Find a data room

About Canada Data Rooms

We help Canadian deal teams choose a virtual data room: what it costs in Canadian dollars, which rules apply, and which room fits the deal.

What we do

Canada Data Rooms rates virtual data rooms for the people who use them on Canadian deals: corporate finance advisers on Bay Street and in Calgary, lawyers and notaries, CPAs, CFOs, founders raising a round, insolvency professionals running a sale process and the privacy officers who have to sign off on a new tool.

Most comparison sites are written for a US reader. Prices are in US dollars, the law is American and the examples are New York deals. We start from Canada: prices converted to Canadian dollars with sales tax by province, PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25, the Competition Act and the Investment Canada Act, TSX and TSX Venture listings, CCAA sale processes and the industries that drive Canadian deal volume.

What you will find here

  • A ranking of 18 providers scored on five criteria, with a full review of each.
  • Use cases for deals, capital markets, legal work, industries and professional practice sales, each with its own document index and re-weighted ranking.
  • Provincial guides covering securities regulators, privacy law, sales tax and the local deal market.
  • Calculators built on current Canadian figures, and long guides.

Who writes it

Pages are written and reviewed by the Canada Data Rooms editorial team. We work from vendor documentation, published prices, security attestations and Canadian primary sources: federal and provincial statutes, regulators, exchanges and the Canada Revenue Agency. We do not claim to have run deals in every product; where a point can only be confirmed in a trial, we give you a checklist to run yourself.

Independence

We are independent of the vendors we review. Some links earn us a commission, as explained on how we earn; that never changes a score. Corrections are welcome on the contact page.
